NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories (STRL) has developed a "Flying Robo-Camera" and an "IP Line Relay Drone" using private wireless broadcasting networks to expand drone usage for broadcasting. The Flying Robo-Camera features an antenna switching device that automatically targets receiving base stations, successfully transmitting 2K high-quality video over 8 km at 40 Mbps. The IP Line Relay Drone utilizes a compact bi-directional Field Pick-up Unit (FPU) to establish disaster-resistant IP networks, enabling simultaneous video transmission and drone control, and functioning as a communication relay point. These will be showcased at STRL Open House 2026.
