Thinking about the Future of Media from 80 Years of Bunken's History

The "Bunken Forum" is held annually by the NHK Broadcasting Culture Research Institute to widely present the results of its surveys and research. This year, the forum will be held in June, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Bunken's establishment. This will be the first in-person event in seven years. As in previous years, a live stream will also be provided. This time, we will introduce the program details.

##### A 10:30-12:00 Rapidly Advancing AI Utilization in Domestic TV Stations - Latest Cases and Challenges -

Since the latter half of 2024, the utilization of AI by domestic TV stations has been accelerating. While results such as cost reduction and the emergence of attractive content are successively appearing, there are also challenges such as dealing with misinformation generated by AI. Together with those in charge of promoting AI utilization at various stations and experts, we will discuss the possibilities and challenges of AI utilization in TV stations.

False information, misinformation, and slander rampant on social media, such as during the Hyogo Prefectural Governor Election in 2024 and the Miyagi Prefectural Governor Election in 2025, are having a significant impact on local elections. We will invite local media representatives to discuss how to deliver accurate information to voters.

We will introduce the latest results of the "National Time Use Survey" that NHK has been conducting since 1960. We will delve into people's daily lives from aspects such as work, housework, media use, and sleep. We will also present changes in Japanese lifestyles revealed through specific individual profiles.
