With the consent of the Board of Governors today, effective April 25, we will appoint nine individuals as Directors: Shinsuke Kanda, Takahiko Hakuno, Shuichi Ogata, Yasue Fujimori, Toshihiro Ito, Midori Kudo, Katsuyasu Matsumura, Takako Higashi, and Wataru Ogawa. At the same time, we newly designate Director Seiki Hara as Executive Director.
Additionally, Executive Director Hideo Koike and Directors Taichi Nakajima, Hanako Ambo, Shoko Taira, and Megumi Kurosaki will step down upon the expiration of their terms on April 24. Furthermore, as Directors Takuya Nemoto and Kenji Terada submitted their resignations earlier this month, we have accepted their resignations effective April 24.
In this executive personnel change, in order to reliably produce results on the two pressing management issues facing the association—'business structure' and 'revenue structure'—we deemed it necessary not only to swap individual personnel but to create a new 'team' capable of directly facing, judging, and executing solutions to these challenges. Thus, we have built this new system.
In selecting personnel, we primarily promoted individuals who are well-versed in both the frontline and the organization under former President Inaba's administration, and who have already achieved results. All of them are not only ready to contribute immediately with a deep understanding of the association's issues, but we also intentionally formed a structure that can push forward with reforms while ensuring management continuity. Moreover, we established a system capable of deriving optimal solutions for the association as a whole, avoiding individual optimization, and making judgments and executing actions as 'Team NHK' beyond organizational silos.
Under this new executive structure, we will work as 'Team NHK' to tackle our management challenges unitedly, fulfilling the trust and expectations of our viewers and the public.
