■ Kabuki is so much fun when you're a "fan-girl"!
Many people likely feel that Kabuki is somewhat high-brow and a bit intimidating.
However, thanks in part to the influence of the hit movie "National Treasure," more people are becoming interested in Kabuki, and it is currently experiencing a bit of a boom.
This course is recommended for those who are "total beginners to Kabuki" or those who have "just started to become interested in Kabuki as a fan."
This course is a special "Me Her Kabuki" (Fan-girl Kabuki) program presented by Akiko Taguchi, from one fan-girl to another.
It is a "5-part series" where you can learn about Kabuki in a relaxed atmosphere.
The joy of Kabuki is, above all, watching the actors.
This is because Kabuki stories were written specifically to showcase the actors and their performances.
But that alone isn't enough to understand the true charm of Kabuki.
If you learn the story of the play and touch upon the way the protagonist lives, the characters will become life-sized and capture your heart.
At that moment, you will understand the true value of Kabuki and its significance as a traditional performing art.
■ The "curriculum" is also this interesting!
Rather than studying difficult plays, we will proceed with themes that will tug at your heartstrings in each session.
Kabuki feels as relatable as a trendy drama, doesn't it?
Session 1 (4/4): "Can you die for the person you love?"
Session 2 (6/6): "Can you give up on love?"
Session 3 (7/4): "I will die to take revenge."
Session 4 (8/1): "I only see you."
Session 5 (9/5): "There are things more important than money."
