Suits are essential for various occasions, such as work and formal events.

However, when it comes to purchasing one, many people may wonder, "What criteria should I use to choose?" or "Where can I buy without making a mistake?"

There are numerous points to check, including size, material, and price.

What aspects do people who actually purchase suits prioritize, and where do they buy them?

Therefore, in collaboration with custom-made suit and shirt brand "Evers Suit," we conducted a survey on "How to Choose and Purchase Suits and Business Wear" targeting 250 men and women nationwide who, in a preliminary survey, responded that they "sometimes purchase suits."

■ 34.8% responded that "price" is the most important point when purchasing a suit.

First, we asked what the most important point is when purchasing a suit.

The most common answer was "price" at 34.8%.

This was followed by "ease of wear/movement" at 22.8% and "fit" at 21.6%.

These top three alone account for approximately 80% of the total, indicating that many people prioritize a balance between practicality and cost.

We asked for the reasons why these points are considered important, and here are some of the responses:

Respondents who answered "price":

・Because the original price is high, I want to choose one that is affordable among them. (Female, 40s)

・Because of rising prices, I want to keep costs down as much as possible. (Male, 40s)

・It's a consumable item, so I don't want to spend too much on it. (Male, 40s)

Respondents who answered "ease of wear/movement":

・Because my job requires a lot of movement, I prioritize ease of movement. (Female, 40s)

・I'm not used to wearing suits daily, so I prefer something easy to move in. (Male, 30s)

・I wear it every day, so it's better if it's easy to move in. (Female, 40s)

Respondents who answered "fit":

・If it doesn't fit my body type, it looks awkward. (Female, 30s)

・Because I have a large body type, if the sleeve length and neck circumference aren't properly adjusted, I can't wear it. (Male, 50s)

・Comfort is important. (Female, 20s)

The reasons for choosing a suit vary from person to person, but the common thread is the desire not to compromise, especially for something worn almost daily.

Those who prioritize price seek cost-effectiveness, those who prioritize ease of wear seek comfort during work, and those who prioritize fit seek appearance and comfort.

■ 38.8% responded that they have "had trouble" with suit size or body type when purchasing a suit.

Next, we asked if they had ever felt that "the size doesn't fit or I can't find something that suits my body type" when purchasing a suit.

38.8% responded "yes," and 61.2% responded "no."

The result that approximately 40% of people have concerns about size and body type is by no means a small number.

Furthermore, we asked those who responded "yes" what specific parts caused them trouble.

The most common answer was "waist" at 40.2%.

This was followed by "shoulder width" at 34.0% and "sleeve length" at 22.7%.
