This time, in collaboration with Doi Co., Ltd., we conducted a survey targeting 500 men and women nationwide on "The Impact of Store Interior Design and Atmosphere on Customer Motivation and Repeat Visits."

■ 54.0% Respond that They "Emphasize" Store Interior Design and Atmosphere

First, we asked how much people emphasize "store interior design and atmosphere" when choosing restaurants, beauty salons, or retail stores.

The results showed that 10.2% "strongly emphasize" it, and 43.8% "somewhat emphasize" it, totaling 54.0% who emphasize interior design and atmosphere. On the other hand, 27.0% "don't emphasize it much," and 19.0% "don't emphasize it at all."

This result indicates that more than half of the people care about the appearance and impression of a store's space.

In other words, interior design and atmosphere can be said to be an undeniable factor when choosing a store.

We asked about the reasons for emphasizing it, and here are some examples:

There was an opinion that it is "important for comfortable use," indicating that interest in interior design and atmosphere has permeated younger generations. Also, stores with a good atmosphere lead to expectations like "I want to keep visiting" and "my desire to buy increases," suggesting it is a factor that influences the overall trustworthiness of a store.

■ 97.1% Respond that They "Want to Visit Again" a Store with Good Interior Design and Atmosphere

Next, we asked those who responded that they emphasize store interior design and atmosphere if they would want to visit that store again if they felt its "interior design and atmosphere were good."

As a result, 30.4% "strongly want to," and 66.7% "somewhat want to," totaling 97.1% who responded that they "want to visit again." "Don't want to much" was 2.6%, and "don't want to at all" was only 0.4%.

Almost all of those who value interior design and atmosphere seem to cite the quality of the space as a reason for repeat visits.

We asked about the reasons for wanting to visit again, and here are some examples:

It is very natural to want to spend time again in your favorite space.
