### ■ 4.8% responded that they "have changed their residence for their pets"

First, we asked if they had ever changed their residence for their pet or to get a pet.
The results showed that 4.8% answered "yes" and 95.2% answered "no."
At first glance, this may seem like a small number, but changing residence is a big decision.
The fact that a certain number of pet owners took action for their pets can be seen as a manifestation of their deep love for them.
We asked about the reasons for each answer, and here are some of them:

#### Reasons for changing residence:

- I couldn't keep a pet in my rental property. (40s, female)
- I wanted to let them run freely without a collar. I bought a 1100 tsubo (approx. 3,630 square meters) plot of land, put up a fence, and built a small house. (60s, female)
- Because I wanted to live with a cat. (30s, female)
- Pets are family, so I think it's natural to change the environment if family members are uncomfortable. (30s, female)
- The apartment I lived in when I was young was pet-forbidden, so I moved to a pet-friendly property. (40s, female)

#### Reasons for not changing residence:

- Because it was a detached house, there was no particular inconvenience. (50s, female)
- Because it was originally a pet-friendly residence. (60s, male)
- Because it was a parakeet that could be kept even in a small room. (50s, male)
- Because I originally built a house for my pets. (40s, female)
- Because the property has a garden of over 90 tsubo (approx. 297 square meters), they can run around in the garden. (70s, male)

Among the reasons for changing residence, many mentioned "couldn't keep a pet in a rental property." Also, some people bought land to create an environment where their pets could run freely.
Among the reasons for not changing residence, responses indicated no problems because they lived in an owned house or a detached house. Also, some said they originally lived in a pet-friendly property or started keeping pets after the environment was ready.
It seems that in many cases, rather than not needing to change residence, the environment for living with pets was already in place.

### ■ 50.0% responded that they "moved to a pet-friendly rental property"

Next, we asked those who had changed their residence for their pets specifically how they changed their residence.
The most common response was "moved to a pet-friendly rental property" at 50.0%.
This was followed by "moved to a detached house" at 37.5%, and "moved to a larger room/house" at 12.5%.
Half chose to move to a pet-friendly rental property. On the other hand, about 40% chose to move to a detached house, indicating that many people prefer owning a home over renting to live more freely with their pets.

### ■ What was prioritized in house hunting: The top is "being pet-friendly" at 62.5%

Next, we asked those who had changed their residence for their pets what they prioritized when searching for a home to keep a pet.
