■ 34.4% answered 'I know about 24-hour fitness gyms'
First, we investigated the awareness of 24-hour fitness gyms.
As a result, 34.4% 'knew' and 19.0% 'had heard of it', meaning a total of 53.4% of people recognized the existence of 24-hour gyms. On the other hand, 46.6% answered that they 'do not know'.
Although the number of 24-hour gyms is increasing, mainly in urban areas, it seems their existence has not yet reached nearly half of the population. For those who are not routinely interested in fitness, there may simply be few opportunities to see them.
■ 49.4% imagine 'it looks convenient to go at any time'
Next, we asked what kind of image they had of 24-hour gyms.
The most common was 'it looks convenient to go at any time' at 49.4%, showing that about half of the people find this point attractive. The unique strength of 24-hour gyms—being able to train without being bound by time—seems to be well conveyed.
This was followed by 'late night seems scary' at 23.8%, and 'seems like I can go at my own pace' at 21.6%.
While there are expectations for convenience, it is clear that anxieties about safety, especially late at night, remain deeply rooted.
