Professor Emeritus Takao Kijima of Yamaguchi University of Science and Technology to lecture in Hiroshima.
Newton Works Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshikazu Yamanashi) is pleased to announce that following the strong response to the "Inheriting Wisdom" Hiroshima-Born! Emotion-Focused Monozukuri and Thinking Design CAE Seminar held in Hiroshima in April 2026, they will host a paid lecture series, "Dynamic Sensory Engineering and Vehicle Dynamics Course 'Kijima Seminar,'" with Professor Emeritus Takao Kijima, former Chief Engineer of Mazda's Roadster, as the instructor. The course will be held in Hiroshima for two days on July 23 (Thu) and July 24 (Fri), 2026. Additionally, in response to requests from regions unable to attend the Hiroshima event, a free seminar, "Inheriting Wisdom" Hiroshima-Born! Emotion-Focused Monozukuri and Thinking Design CAE Seminar, will be held in Nagoya on August 5 (Wed).
Professor Emeritus Kijima of Yamaguchi University of Science and Technology and his beloved NC Roadster.
[Background of the Event]
The seminar held on April 21, 2026, at the Hiroshima Prefectural Information Plaza, featured a lecture by Takao Kijima, who was involved in the development of successive Roadsters, on "Emotion-Focused Monozukuri" and "The Essence of Design." His talk deeply impressed the engineers in the Hiroshima area who attended. Post-seminar surveys revealed numerous enthusiastic requests such as "The lecture time was not enough" and "We want to learn systematically and deeply, not just the philosophy, but how to apply it to actual design." In response, Newton Works decided to hold a concentrated two-day lecture, "Dynamic Sensory Engineering and Vehicle Dynamics Course 'Kijima Seminar,'" in Hiroshima as a venue to pass on Kijima's technology, way of thinking, experience, and know-how. The Kijima Seminar has already been held five times in Tokyo and will be held for the first time in Hiroshima.
Furthermore, in response to the strong voices from engineers in other regions, including the Tokai area, who found it difficult to attend the Hiroshima event, the seminar will also be held in "Nagoya," a hub of Japanese manufacturing.

What is "Inheriting Wisdom"? https://www.newtonworks.co.jp/service/cae/coursesp/
"Inheriting Wisdom" is a project designed to create a platform for transmitting the wisdom, know-how, thinking, experiences, and even failures of top veteran engineers – collectively "Japanese Wisdom" – to current engineers. We envision "All Japan" as a single company, and through learning from senior engineers at "All Japan Corporation," we hope to support Japanese manufacturing companies in succeeding globally. This project is planned as a gesture of gratitude from Newton Works Co., Ltd. to our customers, who are supported by Japanese manufacturing.
What is Newton Works Co., Ltd.? https://www.newtonworks.co.jp/
Headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Newton Works Co., Ltd. is an independent engineering solutions provider led by President Toshikazu Yamanashi. With CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) at its core, the company supports the manufacturing industry with advanced technological capabilities. Our strength lies in our ability to provide comprehensive solutions covering all phases of product development, from FEM (Finite Element Method) analysis that meticulously captures the physical behavior of products from a microscopic perspective, to 1D-CAE (system simulation) that models the behavior of entire systems macroscopically in the upstream process.
Beyond being a mere software vendor, a key feature is the deployment of our proprietary software suite, "NewtonSuite," which condenses the know-how accumulated through years of support and consulting. In addition to selling the latest software, we offer a one-stop service that includes advanced analysis consulting by experienced engineers, contract analysis, and specialized technical training. We support Japanese manufacturing industries facing challenges in diverse sectors such as automotive and energy, by solving problems with the power of technology and providing total backup for next-generation product development.
