NewtonWorks Expands Support to 12 Teams for Student Formula Japan Competition

NewtonWorks Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshikazu Yamanashi) is a sponsor of the Student Formula Japan Competition and actively supports the event. In 2025, the company launched the "Student Formula Support Project" and began offering its 1DCAE tool "SimulationX" to assist participating teams with their development. This year, the number of supported universities and teams has been significantly expanded from 5 last year to 12. Through the provision of simulation software and technical support, NewtonWorks aims to encourage students in their vehicle development.

## Background of the Student Formula Support Project

The "Student Formula" competition, where students conceive, design, and build small racing cars themselves, evaluates not only vehicle performance but also the overall manufacturing capabilities, including design validity, cost management, and presentation. Through this project, our company aims to support students who challenge manufacturing and contribute to "monozukuri" (manufacturing) and "hitozukuri" (human resource development) that will sustain the future of Japan's manufacturing industry.

## Support for Vehicle Development with 1DCAE Software "SimulationX"

NewtonWorks provides the 1DCAE/MBD tool "SimulationX," widely adopted in the automotive industry, free of charge to support the design and development of formula cars.

SimulationX is a tool that analyzes entire systems and enables performance and functional evaluation of products. Depending on the model's level of detail, it can comprehensively cover not only the design of individual components such as engines, powertrains, suspensions, and steering, but also the understanding of overall vehicle behavior, including "Driving Maneuvers," the formulation of requirements for components, and the examination of their feasibility.
