Newtonworks Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will hold a special seminar, "Hiroshima-born! Emotion-Focused Monozukuri and Thinking Design CAE Seminar," on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Hiroshima Prefectural Information Plaza, featuring Mr. Takao Kijima, who served as the development chief engineer for the Mazda Roadster, as a lecturer.
Background of the Event: "Transmission of Wisdom" in an Era of Transformation
Currently, Japan's manufacturing industry is facing severe challenges, including intensifying global competition and fluctuating electrification policies in various countries. It is precisely in such difficult times that we planned this seminar as an opportunity to learn the "mindset of an engineer" for pioneering the future, by experiencing the insights of veteran engineers who have overcome numerous hardships.
This project is part of the "Transmission of Wisdom" initiative, which aims to convey the "crystallization of Japanese wisdom" held by veteran engineers to the next generation of active engineers. Newtonworks Co., Ltd. is implementing this event with gratitude to all manufacturing companies that have supported us.
Highlights of the Seminar
1. Special Lecture by Legendary Engineer Takao Kijima
Mr. Kijima will deliver a lecture on "emotion-focused product development" and "integration of object and mind," sharing behind-the-scenes stories of the Mazda Roadster's development and valuable experiences overcoming numerous difficulties in development. We believe this will be an opportunity to gain "hints relevant to today."
2. Presentation of Latest Simulation Technology (CAE)
Newtonworks will propose simulation technology that oversees the entire system to support "human-centered development." We will present a consistent design process that realizes a vehicle-wide perspective through simulation, connecting from the overall vehicle to component design, and from 1DCAE to detailed shape design. Furthermore, we will introduce practical methods directly linked to next-generation manufacturing, including advanced data analysis technology.
