New Relic Appoints Masakiyo Furutate as Head of Japan Business

New Relic K.K. (Headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo), a provider of observability platforms for digital businesses, announced today the appointment of Masakiyo Furutate as Group Vice President (GVP, Head of Japan) for New Relic Global and Executive Officer, Head of Japan Business for New Relic K.K.

New Relic, which provides an integrated observability platform, currently holds the top share in the domestic observability market for seven consecutive years (*1). The number of domestic users exceeds 38,000 and continues to grow. In the previous fiscal year (ending March 2026), the number of domestic employees increased by 20%, and on March 12, 2026, New Relic announced the opening of a Japan data center and the latest AI feature set, accelerating investment and support systems in the Japanese market on an unprecedented scale.

Masakiyo Furutate, who has been appointed as Executive Officer, Head of Japan Business, is a leader with a strong track record in the enterprise IT industry. For the past eight years, he served as President of Veeam Software Japan, leading the company to market leadership in data protection. With his management skills honed in key positions at global companies such as IBM Japan, Microsoft Japan, Red Hat, and F5 Networks, and his strong leadership in guiding organizations to industry top positions, he aims to further expand New Relic's leadership in the rapidly growing domestic observability market.
