Hotel New Otani (Tokyo) will open its "GARDEN POOL," one of the largest outdoor pools in Tokyo, surrounded by a 10,000-tsubo (approx. 33,000 sqm) Japanese garden, from Saturday, May 2, to Wednesday, May 6 (holiday), 2026. Furthermore, guests staying at the hotel during this period can use the "GARDEN POOL" for free as many times as they like throughout their stay. Please enjoy "getting a head start on summer" activities to your heart's content with your family this Golden Week.

This year's GW, escape with the whole family to the urban oasis "GARDEN POOL"!

Golden Week in 2026 offers varying vacation lengths depending on your lifestyle, ranging from 5 days to 8 days, or even up to 12 days. Whether you want to stay local or take a short trip, the one thing everyone shares is the approaching "summer heat." According to Japan Meteorological Agency data, Tokyo recorded "summer days" (temperatures of 25°C or higher) during Golden Week last year, and forecasts predict higher-than-average temperatures for April and May this year as well. Hotel New Otani (Tokyo) is opening its outdoor "GARDEN POOL" for a limited 5-day period starting during Golden Week, just as the pre-summer heat begins to set in. The pool will operate as a heated pool during this period to accommodate changes in temperature. Additionally, a "toddler pool" with a depth of about 50cm is available, so those with small children can enjoy it with peace of mind. For two days only, we will also host a frozen art performance by the hotel's exclusive ice sculptor, who has won the Grand Prix at the World Ice Sculpting Championships 19 times. This Golden Week, make the heat your ally and spend time creating memories with your family at the "GARDEN POOL."
