newmo Inc. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO Naoki Aoyagi, hereinafter "newmo"), which operates a taxi business, has established a new taxi company, "Yokoyoko Kotsu Co., Ltd."

In conjunction with this, a "Shin-Yokohama Sales Office" has been opened in the Shin-Yokohama area of Kanagawa Prefecture, with operations scheduled to begin in the fall of 2026. A dedicated recruitment page was launched today, and recruitment of opening drivers and staff has commenced.

About the Establishment of "Yokoyoko Kotsu"

newmo is a mobility startup with the mission "Coloring communities through mobility," operating taxi businesses, human resources businesses, autonomous driving taxi businesses, and more. "Yokoyoko Kotsu" has been newly established to provide new mobility experiences optimized for the future, while inheriting the regional foundation and know-how cultivated by Umikaze Kotsu. We will build a new sales office model in Kanagawa that can only be realized by a newly established corporation.

While cherishing solid quality such as clean vehicles, safe driving, and considerate customer service, we will also advance the utilization of technology. We aim to become a taxi company that continues to be chosen by customers by making transportation more convenient for customers visiting the central areas of Yokohama, including Shin-Yokohama.

Origin of the name "Yokoyoko Kotsu"

The name "Yokoyoko Kotsu" is a combination of the "Yoko" from Yokohama and Yokosuka, and the "Yoko" from "jūjū mujin" (meaning freely or in all directions).

The central areas of Yokohama, including Shin-Yokohama, are gateways to this region where people come and go. Whether visiting for business, enjoying events, or living in the city, people start their journeys with various purposes. The Miura Peninsula area, including Yokosuka, features seaside tourist spots and historic townscapes, offering diverse transportation opportunities from daily commutes for locals to leisure activities on holidays.

The name "Yokoyoko Kotsu" embodies our aspiration to be a hub that runs freely in all directions throughout the Keihin area, including Yokohama and Yokosuka, tailored to the needs of each customer. We aim not only to take passengers to their destinations but also to refine the travel experience itself into a smarter and more comfortable one.

Please note that the taxi service brand provided to customers will be "Umikaze," which is common to the Kanagawa area.

About Shin-Yokohama Sales Office

The Shin-Yokohama Sales Office is a new base established in the Keihin transportation zone. It will respond to the diverse transportation needs of the surrounding areas, including Yokohama and Kawasaki. Preparations are underway for its opening this fall.

Furthermore, by incorporating the DX and AI utilization expertise cultivated by newmo, we aim to reduce the burden on drivers and achieve stable operations by improving the efficiency of dispatch and operations.
