"GINZA DIAMOND SHIRAISHI presents Echo: Tanka for You" was broadcast on BS Asahi on March 29. The program solicited tanka poems from viewers on the theme of "futari" (a couple/pair). From a total of 2,338 submissions, the Ginza Diamond Shiraishi Award winners were selected. In conjunction with the program, a special booth has been set up at the "Ariake Spring Festival" held at "TOKYO DREAM PARK," which opened on March 27. In addition to exhibiting the award-winning works, there is also a tanka creation experience corner where you can win wonderful prizes.

As a traditional form of Japanese poetry, tanka have been cherished for centuries. With their freedom from seasonal words (kigo) and their delicacy in expressing the subtle movements of the heart in daily life, their popularity is spreading even among the younger generation. "Ginza Diamond Shiraishi" (operated by NEW ART Co., Ltd., Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Eri Hamano) has also consistently conveyed the importance of expressing feelings through words via its bridal jewelry.

The program featured the popular young-generation poet Akira Aomatsu, also active on YouTube under the names "Beteranchi" and "Raijuu," as MC. Guests included the popular young poet Kon Ito and singer-songwriter Kayoko Yoshizawa, known for her unique poetic worldview. They discussed their favorite tanka from the submissions and shared their diverse interpretations of poems about various "couples/pairs."

The full-length video, including talk segments not shown on the program, is now available on YouTube! Please take a look.
