The Yokohama Citizen Disaster Prevention Center is Yokohama City's only experiential disaster prevention learning facility, offering various contents such as earthquake shaking, initial fire extinguishing, evacuation from smoke, and simulated disaster experiences, under the slogan 'Learn with fun and prepare thoroughly.' Many people, including neighborhood associations, elementary schools, and corporate employees, visit every year for training.

From April 2026, three contents—fire extinguisher experience, smoke experience, and theater educational videos—will be renewed and opened to the public. New Cosmos Electric, as a disaster prevention partner company, cooperated in the production of the 'Smoke Experience Corner,' taking charge of visualizing carbon monoxide, introducing related equipment, and other aspects.

Overview: In the space of the conventional smoke experience corner, videos, projectors, and panels will be used to provide awareness and knowledge about 'the dangers of carbon monoxide during a fire' and 'correct evacuation methods,' making the subsequent 'evacuation in smoke' experience a deeper learning opportunity.

Additionally, an original character, 'CO Ghost,' will be used to represent invisible carbon monoxide (CO), impressing upon visitors that carbon monoxide is a dangerous gas generated during fires.
