Nest Resort Kobe, Ltd. (Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture; President and CEO: Atsushi Tanaka) is launching its first-ever summer cooling event, 'Bakushu Rakuen (Beer Garden),' at the natural hot spring 'Jikkai no Yu' from Friday, July 17, 2026, to Sunday, September 6, in the resort's courtyard. At a specially constructed venue illuminated within the mountainous courtyard, guests can enjoy a summer-only evening featuring charcoal-grilled dishes prepared on shichirin grills under the supervision of Jikkai no Yu's head chef, Yuya Ohashi, paired with refreshingly cold drinks. This marks the first time Asahi Beer will be offered at Jikkai no Yu.

A Unique Summer Beer Garden Experience from a Hot Spring Facility

The Jikkai no Yu beer garden offers an all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink experience. Guests can leisurely savor chilled beer and charcoal-grilled cuisine in a tranquil Japanese-style space surrounded by nature, with an open-air courtyard that offers a refreshing sense of openness.

The highlight is the 'shichirin grilling'—meats and fish slowly roasted over shichirin charcoal. Guests can enjoy fragrant yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), duck skewers, and freshwater fish such as ayu (sweetfish), all cooked to perfection with far-infrared heat that locks in moisture and flavor, served in the beautifully lit courtyard. Whether enjoyed alongside a hot spring soak or as a standalone experience, this limited-time summer event is open to both day-trippers and overnight guests.

Yuya Ohashi, Head Chef at Jikkai no Yu

"The stars of this event are the yakitori and freshwater fish grilled over shichirin charcoal. Especially in summer, we serve ayu whole, simply salt-grilled. It's an aromatic fish, so we want guests to enjoy its pure, simple flavor without overcomplication.

The far-infrared heat from charcoal grilling gently cooks the ingredients, preserving their natural moisture and umami while enhancing their aroma. Few beer gardens offer authentic shichirin grilling. We invite guests to experience this 'out-of-the-ordinary' moment, surrounded by the natural beauty of Jikkai no Yu.

Our motto is to treat every guest as if they are on a once-in-a-lifetime journey. We serve each dish with heartfelt care."

Sample Menu

The specialty is skewered dishes grilled slowly over shichirin charcoal. Fragrant yakitori, duck skewers, and seasonal freshwater fish—especially salt-grilled ayu—are the stars of the summer menu. The far-infrared heat ensures a fluffy texture and captures the unique aroma of charcoal grilling.

Fried dishes and specialties include Awaji onion tempura, garlic shrimp, karaage (Japanese fried chicken), and fried gyoza—perfect pairings for beer. Cold dishes and summer vegetables include grilled vegetables in broth, kombu salad, and edamame for palate cleansing. For the final course, guests can choose from sobameshi (fried noodle rice), salt-flavored yakisoba, or garlic rice.

First-Time Introduction of Asahi Beer

The stars of the drink menu are well-chilled Asahi Super Dry and Black Draft Beer. This marks the first time Asahi Beer has been introduced at Jikkai no Yu. Super Dry is served in a special 'ice-cold tumbler,' chilled to sub-zero temperatures for a refreshingly cold sip—perfect for hot summer nights. In addition, over 40 drink options are available, including barrel-aged highballs from Black Nikka, fruit sours (lemon, lime, Calpis, umeshu), cocktails like Cassis Orange and Fuzzy Navel, red and white wine, and sparkling wine. Non-alcoholic options include non-alcoholic beer and soft drinks, ensuring families with children can also enjoy the event. All 40+ drinks are included in the all-you-can-drink package (including alcohol).
