Speaker Equipped with Sonarion Diaphragm, GlaXfi 'Alala BSP-24', Goes on Sale in Japan

Nippon Electric Glass Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, President: Akira Kishimoto, hereinafter NEG) and Taiwanese glass processing manufacturer GAIT have announced the start of sales in Japan of the GlaXfi 'Alala BSP-24' speaker, which is equipped with the co-developed Sonarion™ diaphragm.

This product is entirely handled by GAIT, from diaphragm molding to speaker unit design, manufacturing, and sales. It has also received the 'Technical Special Award' at the '41st HiVi Grand Prix 2025'.

■About the GlaXfi 'Alala BSP-24'

The GlaXfi 'Alala BSP-24' features Sonarion™ diaphragms in both its tweeter and woofer. It is characterized by clear high frequencies from the approximately 50μm thick tweeter and powerful yet delicate mid-to-low frequencies from the 6.5-inch woofer. In addition to a high-power design with a maximum output of 200W, it also offers wireless connectivity and multi-room control functions.

■About the Sonarion™ Diaphragm

Sonarion™ is a specialized ultra-thin sheet glass developed for the 'diaphragm', the heart of acoustic devices. NEG co-developed the glass diaphragm using Sonarion™ with Taiwan's GAIT (Glass Acoustic Innovations Co., Ltd.), which possesses precision 3D glass processing technology. By applying three-dimensional molding and special chemical strengthening treatment to the specially developed glass, the characteristics required for an acoustic material are achieved.
