NearMe Updates "Chartered/Tour" Service Connecting Travel and Experiences

NearMe Inc. To commemorate its 9th anniversary in July, NearMe will also launch the "NearMe 9th Anniversary Campaign," offering coupons worth up to \9,000 for use with its "Chartered/Tour" service, airport shuttles, and taxis, providing an opportunity for more people to experience this initiative.

Update to the "Chartered/Tour" Service Connecting Travel and Experiences

NearMe has addressed various transportation needs through services such as airport shuttles for airport transfers, chartered transfers, local ride services, and regional transportation projects. In recent years, the company has also expanded its efforts to support travel to destinations and experiences, including transportation for sports viewing events like the "Ehime FC Support Share Taxi" and support for travel to theme parks and tourist attractions. Against this backdrop of expanding usage scenarios, the "Chartered/Tour" service has also seen increased usage, with sales in May-June 2026 approximately 5.8 times higher than the same period last year. This update will enable users to easily search and book transportation services online based on their destination, such as theme parks, tourist spots, and tours, and will be provided as a service that seamlessly connects travel and experiences. This will create an environment where chartered transportation, which previously required quotes via phone or email, can be easily booked online.

Background of the Initiative

In recent years, with the recovery of inbound tourism demand and the rise in domestic travel demand, opportunities for people to travel have increased. According to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the number of foreign visitors to Japan in April 2026 exceeded 3.69 million, a record high for a single month in 2026※1. Furthermore, while travel costs are rising due to factors such as the weak yen and persistently high fuel prices, securing transportation and improving travel convenience remain social issues due to labor shortages in the transportation industry and the reduction of regional transportation services. Challenges also remain in transportation after arriving at a destination, such as secondary transportation in tourist areas.

Since its founding in 2017, NearMe has been working to solve transportation issues with the mission of "Solving the 'waste' in transportation and realizing a society where as many people as possible can travel freely and continue to live in the towns they desire." The airport shuttle service, "Airport Shuttle," launched in 2019, is now available at 16 airports nationwide and has surpassed 1.45 million cumulative bookings※2. In recent years, the company has expanded its service areas to include chartered transfers, local rides, and regional transportation projects in collaboration with local governments.

In pursuing these initiatives, NearMe is focusing not only on improving transportation convenience but also on services that cater to experiences beyond just travel, such as tourism, leisure, sports viewing, and event participation.
