Within this festival, counted as one of the 'Three Great Edo Festivals' and boasting one of Japan's most vibrant atmospheres, his lens captures the brilliance of people exploding with vitality. Wong Mun Hoo Profile Photo ■Comment by Wong Mun Hoo: 'After 30 years, I photographed the Sanja Matsuri again. When I learned about this festival as an assignment during photography school, and now standing in the same place and looking through the viewfinder again, I realized that the enthusiasm and power of the people gathered at the festival have not changed at all. The sight of people carrying portable shrines, sweating under the strong sun, is still, as it was then, the very energy that lives in this town. I strongly felt the power of people passed down through time.'
