Production Scheduler "Freely" to Release New "Planning Gantt Chart" Function on March 25. Optimize Process Management by Combining Short-Term "Board" and Medium-Term "Gantt"
Japan Computer Development Co., Ltd. will release a new "Planning Gantt Chart" feature for its cloud-based production scheduler, "Freely," on March 25, 2026. This update allows users to switch between the existing "Planning Board" for daily tasks and the new "Planning Gantt Chart" for medium- to long-term process management, significantly improving on-site management flexibility. The new feature also includes seamless two-way integration with core systems and intuitive drag-and-drop operation.

Japan Computer Development Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ebina City, Kanagawa Prefecture, CEO: Keiji Eguchi) will release a new "Planning Gantt Chart" feature for its cloud-based production scheduler "Freely" on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
With the implementation of this feature, it becomes possible to use the existing "Planning Board" function, suitable for daily task management, and the "Planning Gantt Chart," suitable for medium- to long-term process management, according to the application, dramatically improving on-site management flexibility.
## ■ New Features and Enhancements
### 1. Realization of Hybrid Management for "Short-Term" and "Medium-Term" Schedules
It is possible to use two types of boards according to the customer's operational style.
* **[Existing] Planning Board (for short-term planning):**
The conventional board for assigning task cards on a daily basis. Suitable for detailed daily work assignments and responding to sudden task changes.
* **[New Feature] Planning Gantt Chart (for medium-term planning):**
A board that allows for visual management of long-term tasks spanning multiple days and the sequence of processes. Suitable for an overall overview of several weeks to several months and for delivery date simulations.
By using these two types of boards, multi-layered operations such as "team leaders manage details with the board" and "managers manage overall progress with the Gantt chart" become possible.
### **2. Seamless Two-Way Integration with Core Systems**
In addition to easy migration from Excel or whiteboards, data integration with existing core systems (such as production management systems and sales management systems) is also possible.
* **Import:**
"Order data" and "manufacturing instruction data" from the core system can be imported into Freely and immediately deployed as planning data.
* **Export:**
Work results (start, completion, man-hours, etc.) registered on Freely can be fed back to the core system.
This eliminates the hassle of double entry and simultaneously improves the accuracy of budget vs. actual management and the efficiency of back-office operations.
### 3. Speed Up Planning and Adjustment with Intuitive Operations
Schedule and person-in-charge changes can be made via drag-and-drop on the Gantt chart. We have pursued a UI (user interface) that can be intuitively handled even by on-site staff unfamiliar with system operations.
## ■ About "Freely"
"Freely" is a production scheduler born from the "site-first" philosophy of being "easier to use, easier to start, and easier to understand." The pursuit of an interface that lowers the barrier to entry and can be operated intuitively by anyone stems from our desire to value the voices of each individual working on site. To date, we have directly reflected the numerous improvement requests from our users and have continuously made functional updates. From now on, "Freely" will continue to be close to the daily life of the site...
