This competition is the highest level firefighting rescue techniques competition in Japan, organized by the General Foundation of National Firefighting Association and supported by the Fire and Disaster Management Agency and the National Association of Fire Chiefs. The 54th edition marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the competition, which has a history of over half a century, will be held on the Sea of Japan side of Honshu. Approximately 22,000 participants, officials, and general visitors are expected to attend from across the country, making it a highly anticipated event for disseminating information and promoting companies related to firefighting and disaster prevention.

Background and Objectives of Sponsorship

nat develops and provides "Scanat," an iOS app that automatically processes high-precision 3D data of spaces and structures with a single smartphone, enabling immediate on-site measurements. While Scanat has been primarily adopted in the construction, real estate, and manufacturing industries, in recent years, its adoption in the firefighting and disaster prevention fields has been steadily increasing from the perspective of rapid spatial recording, structural understanding, and digitalization of assets at disaster sites.

"Fire origin investigation is a crucial task that forms the basis for fire prevention. However, the challenge of investigation know-how relying on the experience of veterans, with knowledge being reset upon personnel changes, is common to fire departments nationwide. By utilizing Scanat, the surveying and photography work at a scene that traditionally required two people and three hours can be completed by one person in approximately 25 minutes, and the man-hours for drawing creation can be significantly reduced, as demonstrated in actual fire investigation scenes. By recording and accumulating site data as 3D digital data, veteran knowledge can be transformed from 'individual experience' to 'organizational knowledge.' We want to deliver such a system to the field of fire administration.
