Narita Airport is a major trade port supporting Japan's industrial economic activities and the social lives of its citizens, as well as a strategic logistics hub handling important goods for Japan and the world. The development concept for the new cargo area, which is the second opening project of Narita Airport, aims to secure these functions, which are crucial for Narita Airport's international competitiveness and economic security, into the future, and to become an "East Asian cargo hub" contributing to the development of the international air logistics network.

For the current "New Narita Airport" Concept New Cargo Area Master Plan Development project, studies will be conducted on the basic vision, operational concept, overall basic plan, and layout plan for the new cargo area, targeting related facilities such as cargo sheds and forwarder facilities.

Furthermore, in carrying out this work, the "Narita Airport New Cargo Area Study Council," established on January 20 of this year, will be utilized. By incorporating the opinions of stakeholders, while resolving current issues, a plan for the new cargo area will be developed that can realize world-class efficiency and productivity and embody strategic directions such as capturing transit demand between three countries.
