Around 22:29 on June 26, an earthquake with a maximum seismic intensity of 6-lower occurred, with its epicenter in the eastern Yamanashi Prefecture / Fuji Five Lakes area. An intensity of 6-lower was observed in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Yamanashi Prefecture, and intensities ranging from 5-upper to 1 were observed across the Tohoku region to the Chugoku region. We extend our deepest condolences to all those affected by this disaster.

We would like to provide an update on our distribution status for areas close to the epicenter of the earthquake that occurred this time.
*The seconds of warning are estimates from the receiving terminal. Actual shaking may differ.

While companies located near the epicenter had a short warning time, it can be seen that the warning time increases as the distance from the epicenter grows. Furthermore, even with a brief period, automatic control of equipment is possible by using the contact output function of the receiving terminal.
Concern: "Will the warning not arrive in time for a near-epicenter, direct-hit earthquake?"
In this earthquake, the straight-line distance between the epicenter and the address of Company A in our distribution status was only about 7 km. Even so, we were able to issue an alert from the receiving terminal with a 5-second warning because we provide a distribution service that supports the PLUM method, one of the estimated seismic intensity prediction methods.
When an earthquake occurs, the JMA sends data such as epicenter information as a message. While some distribution services do not support the PLUM method, our service "ProP biz" fully supports the PLUM method, allowing us to issue alerts based on PLUM method measurement results, as in the case of this earthquake.
What can be done with a "5-second" warning? The value of "speed" shown by JMA data.
A warning time of "5 seconds" might sound like an instant.
However, according to a survey conducted by the JMA targeting disaster victims of past major earthquakes (e.g., the Hyuganada earthquake in August, Reiwa 6), nearly 70% of respondents expressed a desire for "even greater speed" from emergency earthquake early warnings. Considering this as valuable time to protect oneself by covering one's head or moving to a safe space free of falling objects and "preparing oneself," the earlier the alert, the better.
