The "Kara Nikuman 3-Piece Set" (hereafter, Kara Nikuman), which was popular last year and is described as "Summer, a truly spicy meat bun awaits in our home... Kara Nikuman 3-Piece Set, to be enjoyed with evening drinks," has reappeared in Nakamuraya's popular Chinese steamed buns sold at supermarkets. Renamed "Kara-uma Nikuman," it is now offered in a set with the classic "Nikuman" for a limited time.

• Nakamuraya's Chinese steamed buns for supermarkets have seen increased demand for various occasions, such as busy weekday breakfasts or snacks, since they became individually packaged in 2021, making them easy to prepare in a microwave. In this context, we are working to "create a food culture" where Chinese steamed buns are eaten year-round by proposing new eating occasions.

• In May 2025, we sold the "Kara Nikuman" for a limited time, designed to relieve intense summer heat stress through spiciness, and it was well-received by many customers for lunch, snacks, and late-night meals.

• This time, maintaining the "spiciness" and "deliciousness" that were popular last year, we have changed the product name from "Kara Nikuman" to "Kara-uma Nikuman" to make it more accessible to a wider audience. Nakamuraya was founded in 1901 (Meiji 34) as a bakery. Inspired by the founder's couple's encounter with baozi in China, they began selling "Tenka Ippin Shinachūman" (nowadays Chinese steamed buns) in 1927 (Showa 2).

At the time of its release, the buns were hand-wrapped and steamed by Chinese craftsmen. To this day, we continue daily research to deliver this deliciousness, developing dough using our own yeast and fillings that leverage our restaurant-honed cooking techniques.
