Founded in Meiji 32 (1899). It began when they were inspired by "Kurikkan," a vegetarian dish from Naritasan Shinshoji Temple, and created "Kuri Yokan" (chestnut yokan) by kneading local shiba chestnuts, selling it as a souvenir for pilgrims to Naritasan.
