NAGARA Inc. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, President: Kazuki Okada, hereinafter NAGARA) will begin accepting applications on July 1, 2026, for a trial program offering local care providers in Toyota City a 3-month free trial of "Nagarakaigo Minutes," an AI minutes service for care settings, as the company enters its second year of a partnership agreement with Toyota City.

This program is designed to let care settings experience firsthand, and "for free," the reduction in burden from being bogged down by recording meetings and handovers. Applications will be accepted via a dedicated form or by phone.

What is "Nagarakaigo Minutes"?

"Nagarakaigo Minutes" is software that automatically creates meeting minutes simply by recording the meeting. In situations where recording is time-consuming, such as care team meetings and various committee meetings, it identifies "who said what" by speaker and automatically handles everything from transcription to summarization. It can be used by those unfamiliar with digital tools with a single button operation and supports specialized terminology unique to care settings. It is a cloud service that can be used from smartphones, tablets, and PCs, with security measures such as communication encryption in place.

How "Nagarakaigo Minutes" Transforms Care Settings

In care settings, numerous meetings require the creation of minutes, including care team meetings, as well as committees for accident prevention, infection control, appropriate physical restraint, and abuse prevention. "Nagarakaigo Minutes" automatically creates minutes by simply recording meetings, taking over these recording tasks.

Freed from the "Extra Work" of Recording

The AI automatically handles everything from transcription to summarization of recorded meetings. Since a draft of the minutes is ready by the end of the meeting, the only task remaining for the staff is to confirm the content. This can reduce overtime for finalization and revisions.

Administrative Time Becomes Care Time

The time saved from recording can be redirected to time spent with users and providing actual care. It helps create an environment where staff can focus on what they want to do by reducing instances of "leaving the site for administrative work."

Usable from Day One, Even for Those Unfamiliar with Digital Tools

Operation is as simple as pressing a button and speaking. The AI supports specialized terms commonly used in care settings such as "bedsores," "end-of-life care," and "near misses," so spoken content is recorded accurately with minimal need for correction. It can be used on smartphones, tablets, and PCs, and requires no dedicated devices or special training.

Background

In care settings, recording and information sharing tasks place a significant burden on staff. A survey targeting special nursing homes found that approximately 33% of care staff's working hours are spent on recording and sharing tasks, encroaching on time that could be dedicated to actual care.

Against this backdrop, Toyota City and our company signed a partnership agreement for the promotion of care DX in July 2025. For approximately one year since then, we have refined the AI minutes service "Nagarakaigo Minutes" into a product through demonstration and development in care settings both within and outside the city, reflecting feedback from the field.

To commemorate the second year of our partnership agreement, we are implementing this free trial to provide more local businesses with an "easy way to try" care DX.

NAGARA Inc. signed a partnership agreement with Toyota City simultaneously with its establishment on July 1, 2025.

President's Comment (Kazuki Okada, President of NAGARA Inc.)

We at NAGARA are a startup born from Toyota National College of Technology.

Driven by the desire to "transform time spent on recording and information sharing into time spent facing the users in front of us," we have developed a service that uses voice AI to take over recording tasks in care settings.

This past year of collaboration with Toyota City has been "a year of continuous learning from the field" for us.

We feel that each piece of feedback from the businesses that have actually used the service has helped nurture "Nagarakaigo Minutes" into a product that better fits the field.

In our second year, we want more businesses in the city to "experience it for free first." We will continue to work with Toyota City towards realizing a society where those involved in care can focus on the care they truly want to provide.

Continued Use After Trial, Utilizing Local Government Subsidies

"Nagarakaigo Minutes" is registered with the Welfare Equipment Information System (TAIS) operated by the Public Interest Foundation Techno-Aide Japan (TAIS Code: 02428-000001). This allows care providers to consider implementation using subsidies from local government initiatives such as support programs for the introduction of care technology. We encourage you to try it out with our 3-month free trial, and if you wish to continue, utilizing subsidies is an option.
