Soil Contamination Remediation Project Completed at Former Factory Site

Nagaken-gumi Co., Ltd.'s Environmental Solutions Division completed soil contamination remediation work at a former factory site on May 31, 2026. This project was handled through an integrated construction system in collaboration with group companies, covering everything from investigation to remediation. By leveraging the company's one-stop system and group synergy, complex remediation work was successfully completed. This project was a voluntary remediation effort conducted within the factory site, with the company overseeing all site management tasks, including safety, construction, data management, and execution. A key feature of this project was the construction system built in collaboration with group companies. Owaki Construction Co., Ltd. was responsible for construction management, and Kankyo Rika Co., Ltd. handled environmental analysis, with each entity leveraging its expertise to advance the project in coordination. This internal system ensured smooth coordination between processes and maintained stable construction quality. The work consisted of two phases: excavation and removal of contaminated soil, and in-situ purification of residual contamination. Excavation involved the use of backhoes for removal, while in-situ purification was carried out in parallel through chemical injection into the ground. By combining multiple methods, the project was able to respond flexibly to site conditions. Regarding construction, safety was prioritized, with strict requirements for workers to wear safety vests and the clear demarcation of work areas using cone bars and barricades. Furthermore, close information sharing among stakeholders was maintained to ensure a safe and smooth construction system.
