"Taisho" (大暑), the period in the 24 solar terms when the heat is at its most extreme, signaling the true arrival of summer*. At Nadaman, we have prepared the seasonal bento box "Natsugoromo" again this year with the wish that you spend this season healthily and coolly. The "Corn Rice," which was well-received last year for being "summery and beautifully colorful," is plumply cooked with Nadaman's proud kelp dashi. This year, we have added the savory aroma of butter soy sauce and "Chicken Miso" as accents. The sweetness of corn and the rich umami based on red miso combine exquisitely, making it a flavor that will have you reaching for your chopsticks. Furthermore, it includes "Kamasu Grilled with Yuzu Pepper," with its refreshing spiciness and aroma, "Tomato Soup Jelly," which brings a cool, light feeling, and our signature simmered dishes infused with the deliciousness of dashi. Nadaman's history began in 1830, the first year of the Tenpo era in the Edo period, when the founder, Mansuke Nada, opened a restaurant in Osaka that would become the predecessor of the restaurant "Nadaman."

In 1919 (Taisho 8), the third generation Mansuke Nada traveled to Europe as the accompanying chef for Mr. Kimmochi Saionji to the Paris Peace Conference. In 1986 (Showa 61), the Tokyo Summit official state banquet, the first for a private facility, was held at "Nadaman Honten Sayamosou." In 2005 (Heisei 17), Nadaman participated in the Aichi Expo as a representative of Japanese cuisine.
