Myriad Genetics LLC (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Representative: Shunsuke Kuraoka, hereinafter "Myriad Genetics") announced that its MyChoice Diagnostic System® has obtained new insurance coverage in Japan for prostate cancer as a companion diagnostic for Lynparza® (olaparib), and began accepting tests on April 1, 2026.

The MyChoice Diagnostic System for prostate cancer is a tumor genetic test that detects tumor cell-derived BRCA1/BRCA2 variants and determines the Homologous Recombination Deficiency (HRD) status. The test results are used to assist in determining the indication of PARP inhibitors for patients with homologous recombination repair deficiency.

Hiroshi Uemura, Specially Appointed Professor of Urologic Oncology at Yokohama City University Graduate School of Medicine, stated: "The insurance coverage of the MyChoice Diagnostic System for prostate cancer provides a new testing option for patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. By adding testing using tumor specimens to the previously available BRCA1/2 germline testing (blood specimens), we expect to increase the opportunities for genetic testing for more patients and enhance the therapeutic benefits of PARP inhibitors."

Shunsuke Kuraoka, Representative of Myriad Genetics Japan, stated: "The new screening for BRCA1/2 genetic mutations for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer using the MyChoice Diagnostic System impacts medication decisions and treatment strategies for PARP inhibitors, and this new coverage highlights its clinical significance."

Myriad Genetics will continue to deploy advanced solutions to understand the essential role genetics play in human health, contributing to the development of cancer genomic medicine in Japan, which includes not only the treatment of diseases but also the prediction and prevention of disease onset.

About MyChoice Diagnostic System®
The MyChoice Diagnostic System is a Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)-based programmed medical device consisting of BRCA1/BRCA2 gene analysis and genomic instability status analysis in tumor cells. The test results are used to assist in PARP inhibitor prescription decisions. The MyChoice Diagnostic System obtained insurance coverage as a companion diagnostic to assist in Lynparza prescription decisions for ovarian cancer patients in February 2021 and for breast cancer patients in February 2025.
