One afternoon after school, the world outside the classroom connected to the "universe" with a clap of thunder— "Astronomy Club" is a game world set in such a mysterious classroom where players catch shooting stars to summon and collect unknown creatures called "Cosmic Ghosts (Amua)".

It fuses the "chill" time of waiting for shooting stars while chatting with friends with the "game" element of aiming to complete all 45 types of characters.

1. Summon "Cosmic Ghosts (Amua)" by Photographing Shooting Stars!

A beautiful universe unfolds outside the window. Players use telescopes and cameras to photograph (capture) occasional "shooting stars" and "planets." By placing the captured stars into a device called an "Astrolabe," players can summon "Amua," ghosts that travel the universe. Amua are cute creatures inspired by animals, with 45 types in total (5 ranks from Normal to Secret).

Sometimes, summoning may fail, resulting in a "bomb" or other disappointing items... Enjoy the occasional mishaps while aiming to complete your collection!

2. An Entrance to the Real Universe within the World (Cooperation: The Asahi Shimbun Company)

This world offers not only a virtual cosmic experience but also an opportunity to connect with the "real universe." A corner introduces the initiatives of The Asahi Shimbun's Space Department, which has reported on numerous celestial events such as meteor showers. Starry sky photographs taken from the summit of Mauna Kea in Hawaii are also displayed, allowing visitors to feel the beauty of the universe as it has been observed. Nice to meet you! I'm BUSSAN, who was in charge of planning and directing this world.

I have a vivid memory of looking up at the "Geminid meteor shower" as a child and being deeply moved, and I've loved space ever since. Space and the starry sky are worlds bordering the unknown, and I believe astronomical observation, peering into its depths through a telescope, is inherently an exciting experience. The starting point for creating this world was the idea of how to deliver the "joy of spending time gazing at stars with friends" in a more casual way. Simply observing felt insufficient, so I designed it to allow for continuous "encounters with the unknown" through characters called Amua. On the other hand, expressing the charm of astronomical observation in VR was not easy, and I tried various approaches (in fact, there are prototypes of various telescopes placed within the world). To ensure as many people as possible could enjoy it, I made it playable even on Meta Quest alone. Ultimately, I feel we have managed to arrange astronomical observation, which can sometimes feel daunting, into something very simple, offering unexpected discoveries and fun. I hope this world will serve as an opportunity to bring people a little closer to the starry sky.
