Muso Action Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ryotaro Murayama; hereinafter "Muso Action") announces its selection for the Physical AI Development Support Program conducted by Amazon Web Services Japan G.K. (hereinafter "AWS Japan").
Through participation in this program, Muso Action will leverage AWS computing resources, technical support from AWS specialists in the Physical AI domain, AWS credits, and other benefits to further accelerate the development and social implementation of general-purpose robot workers that integrate Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models with force control and teleoperation.
Background of Selection
In fields such as manufacturing, logistics, and retail, chronic labor shortages have heightened expectations for versatile robots capable of flexibly replacing light manual tasks. However, to safely and reliably perform diverse tasks across different environments, it is essential to establish an integrated development platform that encompasses robot foundation model training, force control, simulation, and real-world deployment.
Since its founding, Muso Action has been dedicated to developing "general-purpose robot workers" by combining robot foundation models with force control and teleoperation. With this program selection, the company will strengthen its pipeline for data collection, preprocessing, model training, simulation, and deployment on AWS, accelerating the transition from field validation to full-scale implementation.
Key Initiatives in the Program
Through this program, Muso Action will focus on advancing the following three areas:
- Strengthening the learning infrastructure for robot foundation models (VLA): Building large-scale training and fine-tuning pipelines using AWS computing resources, including data from force control and teleoperation.
- Simulation and synthetic data generation: Combining simulation environments that replicate real-world tasks with synthetic data generation to complement real-world data and improve model generalization.
- Real-world deployment and operations: Establishing a comprehensive robot worker platform capable of end-to-end handling from learning to operation through field demonstrations in manufacturing, logistics, and retail environments.
Through these initiatives, Muso Action aims to accelerate and expand the social implementation of general-purpose robot workers that can safely and flexibly replace human light labor.
Comment from CEO Ryotaro Murayama
"Physical AI is evolving from a research topic into a workforce that collaborates with humans on-site. Muso Action has aimed to deliver 'general-purpose robot workers' that integrate foundation models, force control, and teleoperation to manufacturing, logistics, and retail environments.
Being selected for AWS Japan's program is a significant boost toward realizing this vision. By fully leveraging collaboration with AWS Physical AI specialists, computing resources, credit support, and community and go-to-market assistance, we will dramatically accelerate the deployment speed of robot workers that are truly usable in real-world operations."
About the 'Physical AI Development Support Program by AWS Japan'
The 'Physical AI Development Support Program by AWS Japan' is an initiative by AWS Japan targeting companies and organizations based in Japan that develop robot foundation models, including Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, on AWS.
The program aims to promote the application of AI in robotics by supporting the construction of end-to-end pipelines from data collection and preprocessing to model training, simulation, and real-world deployment. Selected companies receive technical support from AWS specialists in the Physical AI domain, AWS credits (up to a total of $6 million USD for the entire program), support for building robotics and generative AI communities, and go-to-market assistance.
