Noriyuki Monzen debuted as an author in 2001 with 'Kenchiku Shizai,' winning the Ayukawa Tetsuya Award. His representative works include 'Shino Meidai,' 'Fuyuufuu Kan' (Genshobo), and 'Tomo ga Kietta Natsu Owaranai Tantei Monogatari' (Kobunsha Bunko). He has garnered many fans with his grand, imaginative style, drawing on his deep expertise and experience as a licensed architect. 'Monzenium: Noriyuki Monzen's Work Block' is a complete edition short story collection that encompasses the four short stories he had published over his 25-year career, plus a newly written work. For those already devoted fans ('Monzenists'), it is an indispensable masterpiece for their research. ## 【Background to the Release】 Horindo Shoten has been participating in the Literature Flea Market Tokyo since December 2024, publishing original books produced in-house as doujinshi. So far, they have released four titles: 'Fifth,' 'Fifth 2: Mitsushitsu Ai' (Katsunori Asukabe), 'Kannon Ibun' (Tamaki Shino), and 'Bouken e no Eien' (Reito Nikai). This initiative is a continuation of that effort. We have collaborated with Noriyuki Monzen on two previous re-publication projects, successfully re-distributing his out-of-print works. Through our deepening relationship, we felt an unending desire to read new works from the author and an expectation for an environment where his now-inaccessible short stories could be easily obtained. This time, instead of waiting for ideals to be realized, we chose to create them ourselves. This is a collection of five short stories I have published over the past 15 years (including the newly written 'Deadbolt'). It features a junior high school girl detective, Sub-character Inspector Kawasaki as the protagonist, a detective story, non-style, and the appearance of Kumo-te (spider-hand) confined to a single work. At first glance, it may seem to have no coherence, but it is a collection drawn together by an unknown element: 'Monzenium.' I hope you will pick up this work, a block of Monzenium specialized in deceiving readers.

'MONZENIUM,' a collection of five 'colorful' short stories by Noriyuki Monzen. I hope to convey the charm of this book by hinting at the unsettling mystery and unpredictable puzzles characteristic of a mystery, as well as the 'connection with architecture' that is a hallmark of Mr. Monzen's works. Also, when I handle cover art, I often aim for illustrations that first catch the eye of potential readers with 'What is this? I like it' and pique their interest. And after reading the book, I also aim for cover art that allows them to appreciate the work more deeply by thinking, 'So that's what it was about.' I hope you will also look at the cover art again after enjoying Noriyuki Monzen's book.
