[Musashino University] Annual "Sunday Lecture Series" with approximately 1,200 participants to be held 10 times this year

Musashino University (Koto-ku, Tokyo; President: Seiko Konishi) hosts its "Sunday Lecture Series" ten times a year (excluding August and March), inviting distinguished lecturers from both within and outside the university. Continuing a social education program that began in 1926, this lecture series was initiated on May 1, 1958, by the disciples of the university's founder, Junjiro Takakusu, and will mark its 668th session in April. With approximately 1,200 participants annually, many people attend these lectures. On Sunday, April 19, Musashino University President Seiko Konishi delivered the opening address, stating, "The Sunday Lecture Series, with its long history, features speakers from various fields. I hope you listen from the perspective of how these connect to the founding principles of our university." She then delivered a lecture titled "Memories to be avoided, memories to be recovered." President Konishi explained the relationship between trauma and memory, her area of expertise, using examples from her own experiences. This lecture is also available as an archived stream. The Sunday Lecture Series is open to everyone, with options for on-site attendance and YouTube live streaming. The streaming URL will be posted on the university's website one week prior to the event.
