Musashino University: Kanki Seminar of Global Studies Faculty Supports Community Activities in English and Chinese, Holds Local Disaster Prevention Event at Toyosu Jōgai Marche on Saturday, April 18

The Kanki Yuichi Seminar of the Japanese Communication Department, Faculty of Global Studies, Musashino University (Koto-ku, Tokyo; President: Seiko Konishi), will hold a local disaster prevention event at Michino Terrace Toyosu on Saturday, April 18. This event aims to provide disaster prevention information to foreign residents living in the Toyosu area. It will be held as part of the monthly 'Toyosu Jōgai Marche,' marking the first time the seminar's theme of 'multicultural coexistence initiatives' is realized. Flyers in Chinese and English were created. The collaboration with Toyosu Jōgai Marche began this academic year through the university's field studies. Previously, the lack of participation by foreign residents in community activities in the Toyosu area has been a challenge for community development. This initiative was planned by Kanki Seminar students in consultation with the Fukagawa Fire Station, with the goal of 'promoting participation in community activities by removing language barriers.' Flyers were created in three languages: Japanese, English, and Chinese. These flyers were shared as electronic data with relevant parties, and also distributed by posting with the cooperation of condominium residents' associations and neighborhood associations in Harumi Flag, Toyosu 5-chome, and Toyosu 6-chome. On the day of the event, seminar students will provide explanations in English and Japanese. Through this event, it is hoped that it will serve as an opportunity for foreign residents to participate in community activities in the future.
