Our company endorses April Dream, which aims to make April 1st a day to express dreams. This press release is the dream of Murata Mokkei Seisakusho Co., Ltd.

Murata Mokkei Seisakusho, a wooden pattern manufacturer founded 44 years ago in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture, which creates "sand mold prototypes" for cast products, will transform the future of an industry facing a shortage of craftsmen. We are a small, elite team primarily composed of women. Armed with sensibilities cultivated through studying art and design, and 3D digital technology, we will evolve wooden pattern craftsmen, who have been unsung heroes supporting industry and manufacturing, into admired creators. We will continue to be the source of all forms, from industrial parts to everyday goods, and transmit the joy of manufacturing to the world.

## Reason and Motivation for the Dream

Currently, the wooden pattern industry is experiencing a drastic decline in craftsmen due to low recognition and an aging workforce, with its very existence gradually being forgotten. However, our lives would not be possible without wooden patterns, from familiar taiyaki makers to industrial engines.

Feeling a strong sense of crisis that this wonderful technology might disappear, we launched our own brand "coohii" in 2022.

We want to break the current situation where "the value is not conveyed because the technology is not known." Our dream is to evolve wooden pattern making into an "admired creative profession" by having craftsmen themselves take the lead in disseminating information, thereby connecting this proud manufacturing to the next generation.

## Current Initiatives

### Advanced Fusion of Digital and Analog: Reverse Engineering Without Drawings

We achieve high-precision digitization of existing objects using the latest 3D scanning technology. After shape restoration with specialized software, we realize wooden pattern manufacturing that integrates the skilled techniques of experienced craftsmen. Even old parts for which drawings have been lost, or complex existing objects, can be reproduced precisely and quickly through the combination of digital technology and craftsmanship.
