MTG Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President and CEO: Takeshi Matsushita) announced the effects of its proprietary blood-flow-enhancing fiber VITALTECH® on fatigue symptoms in collaboration with Professor Takashi Mizuno of the Center for Health Sciences Innovation, Osaka Metropolitan University, at the 22nd Annual Meeting and Academic Conference of the Japan Society of Fatigue Science (June 6–7, 2026).

Wearing innerwear made with VITALTECH® for four weeks may contribute to maintaining autonomic nervous function and reducing fatigue before bedtime, the study suggests. Moving forward, MTG will continue its efforts with Professor Mizuno toward publishing the findings in international academic journals.

Background

A 2026 nationwide survey conducted by the Japan Recovery Association on fatigue conditions, targeting 100,000 individuals, reported that 77.4% of Japanese citizens (aged 20–79) answered they feel 'tired,' with 39.9% experiencing fatigue at high frequency※1, revealing the widespread nature of fatigue among the Japanese population.

Home-use far-infrared blood-flow-enhancing garments are general medical devices in clothing form, designed with the purpose of improving fatigue symptoms through the blood-flow-enhancing effects of far-infrared radiation. This study therefore evaluated the impact of wearing innerwear made with the blood-flow-enhancing fiber VITALTECH® for four weeks on fatigue symptoms.
