This device is a highly integrated dual-output multiphase power management solution designed to meet the fast dynamic voltage scaling requirements of advanced computing platforms, including NVIDIA GPUs, AI cores, XPUs, and network ASICs.

The MAX20816 PWMVID/AVSBus controller available from Mouser features a flexible dual-loop architecture that supports up to 16 total phases (16+0 to 8+8) across two independent power rails. This enables efficient power delivery from a single controller to multiple high-current cores. The controller supports high-speed digital voltage control via PWMVID and AVSBus interfaces. Additionally, through PWM phase paralleling, the number of phases can be extended to 32 or even 48 phases, making it suitable for applications requiring up to 2500A of current.

Advanced telemetry and power management functions are accessible via PMBus, enabling real-time monitoring of voltage, current, input power, and power stage temperature. Users can also record fault logs and configure protection features. The built-in non-volatile memory (NVM) allows storage of pre-configured or user-defined settings, while a fault information retention feature helps prevent critical failures following power stage faults.
