Producer: Adegas Guímaro

A family-run winery currently led by its 5th-generation owner, Mr. Pedro Rodríguez.
The winery is a key player in putting the Ribeira Sacra D.O. of the Galicia region on the map. They own vineyards with old vines dating back to 1910, situated on steep slopes with gradients of up to 85 degrees. They produce wines of exceptional quality from these mixed-planting indigenous grape vineyards.
The Hidden Gem of Galicia: Ribeira Sacra D.O.

Located along the Miño and Sil rivers in the interior of Galicia, this production area features terraced vineyards scattered across steep, cliff-like deep valleys. Some slopes are even steeper than those in Germany's Mosel region.
While the scenery is breathtaking, it is also a region where viticulture involves significant danger. As the name 'Ribeira' (riverbank) 'Sacra' (sacred) suggests, winemaking and viticulture have been practiced here since ancient times, centered around monasteries. The soil is characterized by granite and slate. The region is known for red wines primarily made from the indigenous Mencía grape and white wines made from Godello.
