MOS Food Services, Inc. (Representative Director and President: Eisuke Nakamura; Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo), the operator of MOS Burger, will open a new "Genmai Shokudo Aen Machida Pario Store" on March 31, 2026 (Tuesday). This cafeteria-style restaurant, which specializes in brown rice set meals, will be located on the first floor of "Machida Pario," a commercial facility situated on the pedestrian route connecting the Odakyu Line and JR Yokohama Line at Machida Station.
"Genmai Shokudo Aen" is a cafeteria-style restaurant concept that provides specialty brown rice set meals at locations inside or near train stations, based on the theme of "bringing 'Japanese feasts' to station interiors." Following its first opening inside Omiya Station (ecute Omiya) in 2015, the brand has expanded to include the "Accorde Yoyogi-Uehara" and "Kawaguchi Station Front" locations. The new "Machida Pario" store will be the fourth location in total.
Machida Station is one of the leading terminal stations in the Tama area, served by both the Odakyu Line and the JR Yokohama Line, with a combined daily ridership exceeding 400,000 people. "Machida Pario" is a long-established commercial facility founded in 1975, featuring a variety of shops including restaurants, cafes, fashion, relaxation services, lifestyle goods, and event spaces, and is frequented by a wide range of age groups. True to the name "Pario," which means "to create something from here" in Latin, the facility is popular as a community-rooted cultural hub, hosting events such as live music and "Pario de Rakugo" (traditional Japanese comic storytelling) to promote "good things and good happenings in Machida."
"Genmai Shokudo Aen Machida Pario Store" will offer "Japanese feasts" featuring healthy, delicious brown rice and carefully selected ingredients for dine-in. Leveraging its location in front of the station, the store will also provide takeout options such as bento boxes and side dishes. A campaign in collaboration with four "MOS Burger" locations in the Machida area is also planned, as the company continues to deliver the "joy of food" to the local community through various channels.
Introduction to "Genmai Shokudo Aen" At "Genmai Shokudo Aen," we use "Ni-hachi Genmai" (2:8 brown rice)—a blend of 20% white rice and 80% Koshihikari brown rice from Chiba Prefecture—to make the brown rice more approachable in flavor, aroma, and texture. It is cooked to a fluffy consistency using our unique ratio and cooking method. The side dishes and small bowls offer a simple, gentle flavor that allows guests to experience the "bounties of the countryside," with a menu that provides a balanced variety of ingredients including brown rice, meat, fish, and vegetables.
The store name "Aen" is derived from the Japanese word for "zinc" (aen). Zinc is a mineral that plays an important role in skin metabolism, bone growth, and maintaining a normal sense of taste. In addition to the cafeteria-style "Genmai Shokudo Aen," we operate four restaurant-style "Aen" locations in Tokyo that offer seasonal vegetable cuisine based on the concept of "Japanese feasts."
