## Survey Results
### ① Information Sources When Deciding on a Housing Loan
What information sources did you refer to when deciding on a housing loan? (Multiple answers)
Among those who borrowed a housing loan within the past year, SNS was the top source at 51%. This increased from 48% in the previous survey (September 2025). Comparison services at 45% and AI at 26% also remained at high levels.
On the other hand, banks decreased to 34% (44% for those who borrowed more than a year ago), and family/acquaintances decreased to 16% (26% for those who borrowed more than a year ago). In particular, family/acquaintances sharply dropped from 35% in the previous survey to 16%. It is believed that as interest rates have risen, there are fewer experienced people around to consult.
### ② Comparison of Information Sources by Age Group (for those who borrowed within the past year)
Information sources for those who borrowed a housing loan within the past year (by age group)
Limited to those who borrowed a housing loan within the past year, the SNS usage rate was 58% for 25-29 year olds and 56% for 50-54 year olds. It is around 50% across all age groups. SNS is used as a housing loan information source by many generations.
The proportion using banks as an information source showed a large generational difference, with 15% for 25-29 year olds and 56% for 50-54 year olds, indicating that younger generations gather information online rather than from banks. AI (ChatGPT, etc.) peaked at 32% for 40-44 year olds, showing that AI usage is spreading among the core generation of home buyers.
### ③ Forecast for Variable Interest Rate Cap
