Moplus Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director and CEO: Ken Yanase, COO: Kazuaki Nakagawa) announces that an official vehicle EV car-sharing model project, which the company and Nissan Car Rental Solutions Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director: Satoshi Okamoto) have been commissioned to operate by Chiba Prefecture, will commence on April 1, 2026.

This model project is being implemented as part of Chiba Prefecture's efforts to promote decarbonization toward the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050. By introducing an electric vehicle (EV) car-sharing service at the Katori Joint Government Building, the EVs will be used as official vehicles on weekdays and will be available for residents and tourists to use on weekends and holidays.

[About the EV car-sharing service provided by our company]
In response to diversifying mobility needs, our company provides mobility services utilizing AI on-demand transportation and autonomous driving technology, as well as car-sharing services utilizing electric vehicles used by local companies and public facilities. By renting out EVs introduced as official or company vehicles as car-shares for local residents and tourists during idle times, we aim to contribute to addressing regional mobility and energy issues.

Moving forward, we will continue to propose comprehensive solutions tailored to the situations of regions and customers, including support for the introduction of energy management services that realize securing emergency power sources using EVs and electricity peak shifting, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable local community.

[Project Overview]
Chiba Prefecture is promoting the decarbonization of mobility toward the realization of carbon neutrality by 2050. In this model project, we are aiming to achieve a "Zero Carbon Drive" by introducing EVs that emit no CO2 while driving, and installing normal chargers as well as solar power generation facilities and storage batteries.

In addition, on weekends and holidays, local residents can use them as a means of transportation for shopping, and they can also be used for tourism, such as traveling to Katori Shrine and Suigo Sawara Ayame Park located around the Katori Joint Government Building, which is the implementation site of this project.

In this model project, Moplus is responsible for car-sharing planning and service design, and Nissan Car Rental Solutions is responsible for operations such as reservations, rentals, and vehicle management for users. Through the operation of the EV car-sharing service, we will analyze usage conditions and needs, and examine the project's effects, business continuity, and expandability.
