Takeshi Yoro Profile
Born in 1937 in Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Anatomist. Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo. Professor Emeritus, University of Tokyo. Received the Suntory Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities for "Karada no Mikata" in 1989. In 2003, "Baka no Kabe" became a bestseller, winning the Words of the Year Award and the Mainichi Publishing Culture Award Special Prize. Authored numerous other books including "Yuinouron", "Yuigon.", and "Jinsei no Kabe". Also known as a massive insect lover, he built an insect mound at Kenchoji Temple in Kamakura, holding memorial services every year.
