Notice Regarding the Appointment of External Director for Montedio Yamagata

Montedio Yamagata (Headquarters: Yamagata City, Yamagata Prefecture; President: Kentaro Aida) announced that, at the regular board meeting and extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held on May 20, 2026, Daisuke Yamanaka (CEO of SHONAI) was appointed as an external director, effective the same day, for the purpose of strengthening the management structure.

Background and Purpose of Appointment The company is currently accelerating its efforts aimed at the sustainable development of Yamagata Prefecture, with "regional revitalization centered on sports" and the "new stadium project" as its pillars.

Mr. Yamanaka possesses overwhelming execution capability and deep insight into tourism, regional branding, and business creation from local regions. By welcoming him into the management team, we will merge the attractive power of sports held by our company with the regional business knowledge cultivated by Mr. Yamanaka.

Through this, we will convert the value of sports into new economic value and promote value creation that can be boasted from Yamagata to the rest of the country and the world.

Mr. Yamanaka has two dreams to realize by becoming a director of Montedio Yamagata: First, for Montedio Yamagata to participate in the Asian Champions League. Second, for Yamagata to become the world's best sports town with Montedio at its core. To achieve these, the role I must play as a director is singular: "to acquire the funds necessary to realize these dreams." From here in Yamagata, I will act to realize a soccer team and hometown we can boast to the world, staying true to my initial intentions, as one with Yamagata, and creating Montedio fans nationwide.
