Mizuho Leasing's Investment in the "Lake Biwa Storage Power Station Project"

Mizuho Leasing Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Akira Nakamura, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "Mizuho Leasing"), through its wholly-owned subsidiary ML Power Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Ken Fukuyama, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "ML Power"), announced its investment in the "Lake Biwa Storage Power Station Project" (hereinafter "this Project"), a grid-scale storage power station business promoted by Mori Trust Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Miwako Date, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "Mori Trust") in Moriyama City, Shiga Prefecture.

This Project is planned with the objective of contributing to securing power grid adjustment capabilities, which are gaining increasing importance with the expansion of renewable energy introduction. It is Mori Trust's first grid-scale storage power station business. ML Power executed its investment in this Project at the end of April 2026 and has joined the business.

Mizuho Leasing aims to be a "multi-solution platformer" that solves social issues and is actively promoting energy-related businesses to realize a decarbonized society. Through ML Power, it has participated in multiple grid-scale battery storage businesses with various partner companies, deepening its expertise. Mizuho Leasing and ML Power will continue to accelerate their efforts in renewable energy and battery-related businesses through their participation in this Project, contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
