Miyako Hotel Yokkaichi Launches Participatory Tanabata Art Exhibition 'Soraboshi' in Lobby

Miyako Hotel Yokkaichi (located at 1-3-38 Yasuji, Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture) has launched the Tanabata-themed art exhibition 'Soraboshi' by Aika Hayano (Aika Hayano), a landscape artist based in Mie Prefecture, starting July 1, 2026 (Wednesday). The artwork represents countless stars shining in the universe and the beautiful Earth among them, embodying the artist’s message: 'The Earth seems large but is actually small, and everything is interconnected. I hope that each person’s wishes will come together to form a great hope for world peace.'

Until July 7 (Tuesday), guests visiting the hotel are invited to write their wishes on tanzaku paper strips and hang them alongside the artwork, transforming collective hopes into a glowing night sky and completing the artwork through participation.

The exhibition will continue until August 31 (Monday), allowing visitors to experience the wish-filled art installation even after the Tanabata festival has passed.

Assistant Professor, Urasenke School of Tea Ceremony

Active nationwide as a landscape architect and tree doctor, conducting tree diagnosis, treatment, and restoration of cultural heritage gardens to preserve beautiful greenery for future generations. Since 2023, she has led tree-planting initiatives across Mie Prefecture—including at Hokusei Central Park and Kameyama Park—under the 'Sakura Project' led by the Okada Cultural Foundation. Through this project, she educates local children and residents about the joy and importance of plants, contributing to landscape development and greening efforts.
