Reservations are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The hotel will be operated by Mitsui Fudosan Resort Management, which also manages 'Halekulani Okinawa' and 'HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO'.
Located in Ogawara, where the Mitsui family once maintained a cluster of villas, the hotel inherits this historical legacy and becomes the second property under the HOTEL THE MITSUI brand, following 'HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO'. 'HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO' has received global acclaim, including Forbes Travel Guide Five Stars, three Michelin Keys in the Michelin Guide, and recognition in World’s Best 50 Hotels. 'HOTEL THE MITSUI HAKONE' will follow in its footsteps as the highest-tier luxury hotel within the Mitsui Fudosan Group.
The hotel will offer a serene and relaxing stay experience, allowing guests to enjoy natural hot springs, gourmet dining, and immersion in nature, all set against the backdrop of Mount Asama and surrounded by Hakone’s expansive natural environment.
Additionally, through a partnership with 'The Luxury Collection', a luxury brand under Marriott International, the hotel aims to attract guests from around the world by leveraging Marriott’s extensive global membership base.

Since opening 'HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO' on November 3, 2020, the HOTEL THE MITSUI brand has been dedicated to its concept of 'Embracing Japan’s Beauty', honoring the unique Japanese aesthetics found in traditional culture, architecture, craftsmanship, and cuisine. The hotel is located within the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. The expansive 14-hectare site features a 45-meter elevation difference. South of the Jakkotsu River, on the Mount Asama side, the original primeval forest has been preserved, ensuring that the rich natural environment and topography nurtured by this land are passed on to future generations. As guests ascend the green-covered approach, they leave behind the outside bustle, welcomed by an entrance with a grand roof. Passing beneath the roof reveals the majestic view of Mount Asama, setting the stage for a special stay experience in harmony with nature.

Set against the grand view of Mount Asama and the gentle sound of the Jakkotsu River, it creates a space where sky, forest, and water become one. The indoor and outdoor areas each offer unique charms, delivering a special wellness experience.
The spa features five treatment rooms, including one couple’s room, where guests can experience original treatment menus exclusive to the hotel.
