This initiative aims to create opportunities for society as a whole to nurture the sensitivity and creativity of the next generation through cooperation with the Tokyo Children's Arts & Culture Platform 'TOKYO Culture Debut' promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. This time, together with Arts Council Tokyo, we will hold the 'Graffiti Cardboard Workshop' at Tokyo Midtown (Roppongi, Hibiya, Yaesu) and Nihonbashi on April 11, 12, 18, and 19. Artist Hidehiko Kado will connect the pieces created in the workshop to form a giant art piece gathering the children's individualities, which will be exhibited at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya from May 2 to May 10. (Co-hosted by: Tokyo Metropolitan Government)
As an industrial developer, Mitsui Fudosan has been working to create 'spaces' where diverse people gather and cultural exchanges are born through city development. In this initiative as well, by utilizing hubs like Tokyo Midtown and Nihonbashi and collaborating with the government and artists, we will provide children with opportunities to experience arts and culture and promote city building where everyone can enjoy enriching experiences.
■ About the Graffiti Cardboard Workshop
We will hold a workshop where children and an artist create artworks together at familiar commercial facilities that are easy for families to visit. Using large cardboards lined up at the venue as canvases, participants will draw shapes and colors with crayons alongside artist Hidehiko Kado. Later, Mr. Kado will connect those pieces to complete a giant art piece consolidating the children's individualities. Through dialogue and joint production with the artist, we will provide an opportunity for children to encounter the joy, surprise, and discovery of expressing themselves.
