Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has been selected for the "Clarivate AI50 2026" by Clarivate, a global information services company based in the UK, as an organization driving innovation in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This recognition highly commends our achievements in AI-related intellectual property, following our selection for the "Clarivate Top 100 Global Innovators 2026" announced by the same company in January of this year.

This award targets AI-related patents registered in Clarivate's patent data. It evaluates "invention strength" using four metrics: "Influence," "Success Rate," "Rarity," and "Geographic Investment," to select the top 50 organizations holding prominent AI-related patents. This is the inaugural announcement of this award. Among the selected organizations, six are Japanese companies, with Mitsubishi Electric being one of them.

Our company is undergoing a transformation into an "Innovative Company" that creates value with new ideas without fear of risk. To achieve this, strengthening our core competencies in equipment (components) and transforming business models and digital infrastructure through the utilization of data and AI are essential. We position intellectual property as a crucial management resource for the future, developing IP activities in conjunction with our business and R&D strategies (※1). As part of this, we have adopted a policy since fiscal year 2020 to expand the proportion of AI-related patents and solution-related patents in alignment with business model transformation (※2). This selection recognizes our accomplishments in the AI field through these activities.

With sustainability at the core of our management, we will continue to strengthen our intellectual property activities and contribute to solving societal issues through our business by creating new value.
