However, the number of processing manufacturers capable of handling such surface treatments is limited, often leading to significant time and effort in selecting appropriate manufacturers and verifying quality.

Aluminum and stainless steel materials are frequently used. For aluminum, chemical conversion coating is commonly employed for corrosion resistance and as a base for painting or adhesion, but there is a growing shift towards "hexavalent chromium-free" systems due to environmental and health considerations. For stainless steel, passivation treatment is increasingly important to prevent corrosion from surface contamination during processing, which is essential for quality stabilization.
